Born and raised in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, Amber Bell earned her Mass Communications - Journalism degree from Texas State University. She began her profession as a freelance writer, soon securing a position as an editor at a new start-up magazine in Houston. Within a year, this led to a stint as their Executive Editor, during which time she ran the publication from the ground up. Amber then joined Modern Luxury Media as a Senior Editor for their luxury lifestyle publication, HOUSTON magazine, and simultaneously served as Editor-in-Chief for Houston Brides. She launched the very first issue of the latter, quickly establishing it as one of the leading matrimonial resources in the area.
When her husband, an electrical engineer, was offered a one-year job post in Aberdeen, Scotland, Amber moved with him across the pond for a cultural and professional adventure. In between traveling the UK and Europe on weekends, she served as an editorial consultant and writer for the Grampian Wedding Directory, Aberdeen's top bridal magazine. She also wrote for various UK publications as well as wedding magazines across the U.S., and served as Sales & Marketing Coordinator for a local Scottish events management company, h-events.
Upon returning to the U.S. in 2010, Amber launched her own full-time freelance company, Amber Bell Creative Freelance. She continues to be a globally-published writer and editorial consultant, working extensively with public relations, media and branding companies and a variety of luxury lifestyle magazines. In addition, Amber regularly maintains her lifestyle blog, Texas Tales.
